Subject: Address for Parish Church in Limerick

Greetings Everyone,

Does anyone have the address for the Parish of Castlemahon, Diocese of
Limerick? I want to send for the baptism records of my grandmother,
Hannah McCarthy, born about May 2, 1880. I have an old copy of her
brother's (Michael Peter McCarthy) records. Above the printed words
PARISH OF CASTLEMAHON someone penned in (Mahoonagh). Penned in below
CASTLEMAHON someone wrote "& Feohenegh" or perhaps it is "& Teohenegh".

Thank you for any help you send my way.

Carole

In what parts of Ireland would this name be common?"

Karen, I have a Hanlon in my line, who immigrated to Quebec early 1800's.
Not sure yet but I suspect Counties Carlow/Wexford as place of origin. You
will find "HANTONS" (should be HANLON) listed with the material about
immigrants
from Carlow and Wexford to Quebec on the Irish Genealogical Society Internat'l
Website. This is a very impressive body of work and anyone with Quebec
Irish should check it out. Here's the URL -
http://www.rootsweb.com/~irish/ireland/wexemig.htm

I have a list of resources about this area and have some material ordered
from QFHS; if anyone else is studying this area I'll be happy to share what
info I have. Along with HANLON, I have HANRATTY, BULGER, GRANNOLS,
MAHER, and GORMAN in that area - Chateauguay Valley, Huntingdon County,
Quebec.
Kathleen.

The address for University College Cork is: University College Cork,
Cork City, Ireland, ATTN: Music Department. I know this address is
correct because I was a student there in 1985.

Anyone have any ideas?

I have a great-great-great grandmother who was named Mary McCaffery from
Ireland. She married Jessie McGinty 28Feb1827 in Ballycroy, Killala Diocese,
County Mayo, Ireland, and they came to the U.S. sometime between 1837 and
1847, I think into New York Harbor. They had at least 7 children when they
came here, if not more. Does this help? This is the only McCaffery I have
information on, and this is the only information I have on her.

This probably id no 'debate' at all. Both versions could be correct for
two different family lines. There are probably other possibilities as
well, though I do not personally know of any.

Westport during this time period. I wrote to the So. Mayo Family Research

were:
Bridget (m. Pat Riordan)
Nell (m. Pete Finley)
Rose (m. Pat Corley)

There were other brothers in Ireland.

I am researching my husband's family with the surname MCTEER. I'm
beginning to discover that there are a lot of variations of the spelling
such as: MATEER, MACTEER, MCTEIR, MACTEIR, ETC. The only information
that I have so far is that my father-in-law's name is Howard Peeples
McTeer. His father's name was the same but for some reason they never
added a Jr. or Sr. to either name so I'm not sure how they would be
distinguished on paper other than dates. Most of their immediate family
is from South Carolina, but they have cousins, etc. all over the USA.
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Whitehead connections , I am trying to start collecting info , my
grandfathers family originally came from Lancashire his name is Lewis he
had a brother Thomas , I know this info is vague but I would welcome any

Subject: CORKBOURNE surname

This came up in some records I was looking at today. It appears my Elizabeth
Dunlap Blair married a Corkbourne.

Be it Irish or ??????

Thanks
