Hi everyone,

I have been subscribed forever it seems, but never have been able
to make the step from Ontario, Canada to Ireland if finding my GG
Grandfather's birthplace. He was listed in the 1871 Canadian Census
of Kingston, Ontario as an Irish weaver, kind of a intuitive guess on
my part than actual knowledge, that he was from Northern Ireland.

But, NOW, I may have some new information, and I don't
know how to proceed.

On the revised IGI at LDS, I found three possiblities
for my great-great grandfather Edward HAMILTON:

His possible christening/baptism:
EDWARD HAMILTON, 5 Dec 1830, Killinchy, Down, Ireland
Father's name JOHN HAMILTON
Batch number 7121122

Possible Parents marriage:
JOHN HAMILTON, Spouse ISABELLE FREDRICK
Marriage 1824 county Down, Ireland
Source 2034608, Film
(Not listed in Ancestral File)

His possible father's birth:
JOHN HAMILTON
Birth c 1804, Donaghadee, Down, Ireland
Source 2034573, Film
(Not listed in Ancestral File)

Now I need information and advice on how to follow up on these
entries. I know that the batch number on the Baptism is from 1971,
and I may not be able to locate the submitter, because of the time
element, but I do intend to follow up on this to see if I can locate
the submitter.

The second two sources say that no additional information is available
on the film, and that the Ancestral File may have the submitter. But
I checked the Ancestral File, and there was no listing for these IGI
submissions. I am going to LDS tomorrow to follow up on the film #s given.

I went to the Irish Atlas and found these listed under Killinchy and also
under Killinchy in the Woods:

I also know that there were some well-to-do Hamiltons in Killyleagh, and
that Hamilton Estate records are available, but am unsure if this is the
right path. My family was not well-to-do, My gg Grandfather was a Tailor,
and very poor...
