Subject: How does one address a letter to a Catholic Church
Date: Thu, 1 Apr 1999 16:50:02 +0100

I want to write to St. Mary's Catholic Church, Chapel Lane, Belfast BT1 1HU
to see if they are willing to provide me with a search of their records, but
I have stumbled at the first hurdle.

How does one address a letter to a Catholic Church?

Is it "Dear Father"? or should that title only be used in conjunction with a
name? "Dear Sirs" doesn't sound right! neither does "Dear gracious custodian
of the ancient manuscripts, scribe and keeper of the forgotten records"!!!!

Seriously though, I would like to know the correct way to address my letter.

Thanks in advance for any replies.
