Canada's control over Quebec is tenuous at best just now. And while
Commonwealth members may perceive value in working together, I do not
believe all of them consider Elizabeth II to be their sovereign queen.
The EU will tend to reinforce the notion of independent nations working
in concert for common goals. As benefits flow from this association the
relevance of the so-called United Kingdom becomes diminished. But what's
all this got to do with genealogy?
