Except in the USA, the more popular spelling of the name is Gleeson.
Gleesons were most prolific in Co. Tipperary, but were also presnt in
numbers in Co.Limerick and a few were in Co. Kilkenny from where my line
emigrated from the Barony of Gowran, to Port Phillip, Australia between 1848
and 1853. For some details
