Hi Julie,
Johnson's Atlas and Gazetteer of the Railways of Ireland indicates that no
railway ever passed through Gurteen, Co. Sligo. The nearest station was
Kilfree Junction which opened in 1874 and closed in 1963 when the branch
line to Ballaghaderreen was discontinued. While there is no station there
presently, the main Dublin-Sligo line still passes through the place.
