Hello

Can anyone point me towards any information on the name McNAIRNEY. My family
surfaced briefly in Stranrare, Wigtownshire Scotland between 1908 and 1949,
then with the possible exception of myself vanished into thin air. I have
RICHARD McNAIRNEY the father of SAMUEL m 1908 to Mary ANNE LOWE who were my
grandparents. They in turn had two sons who survived to adulthood SAMUEL
born 1914 and my father THOMAS born 1917. two daughters SARAH b 1909 m 1928
to ROBERT McCOLM. ANNIE b 1912 m DANIEL DIAMOND 1931. All At Stranrare.
Their seem to have been 3 McCOLM children 1926 Mary, 1929 Robert, 1930
Thomas. One DIAMOND girl b 1931 MAUREEN, who in turn married GEORGE
FAIRWEATHER in 1949.

Then nothing no death recorded, nothing. Thomas my father was killed in the
war I do know about him, but back and forward from the rest I am stuck. Any
assistance would be welcome, from where the name appears in Ireland? what it
means? to where the next generation may have gone to? I have incidentally
contacted all the McNairney's that I can find in Scotland, and the only
other place that I can trace them that being in Canada. All deny any
connection to my branch.
