Padraig,
I have their convict Indents, John arrived on the Minerva 17th Dec
1819, his crime not mentioned, Simon arrived on the Mariner (3) 25th
May 1827, his crime robbery, John Fitzgibbons was the first husband of
my GGGrandmother, he died in Bathurst NSW in 1846, and GGGrandmother
remarried in 1847 in Sydney, NSW. John fathered 7 children between
1835 & 1846. I have been told that the records where I might find out
his crime were destroyed in a fire in Dublin in 1922. Simon married
in 1842 in Bathurst NSW and died in 1855. There were no children by
this marriage. Simon got a conditional pardon in 1843, but as to date
cannot find if John was ever made a freeman, he was still a convict at
the time of his marriage in 1835.
Val.
