PROVINCIAL INTELLIGENCE
LIMERICK, NOV. 8- On Wednesday morning, between nine and ten o'clock,
as Sir Wm Reade, Bart, Rector of Tomgrany, was on his way to Killaloe, he
was fired at from behind the deerpark wall of Raheen, it is supposed by two
persons, as he received one ball under the shoulder and the other in the
thigh. We are happy to add neither wounds are considered dangerous. Sir
William remains at Killaloe, under the care of the Surgeon of the 25th
Regiment. Captain Drought and Police are using every exertion to discover
the perpetrators.
On Thursday, about twelve o'clock, Maurice Bennett, for the murder of
Michael Gorman, effected his escape from the County Gaol, by walking out
unnoticed with some Insolvent Debtors who were going to the Court-house to
be discharged.
