I received from the death certificate from the NYC archives yesterday. It
may be my gg grandfather but I am not sure. The age, parents names and
dates seem to fit. What is new to me is that he died in Bellevue Hosp and
his last address is the one listed above. At first I thought that this
could not be the correct one because he lived on WEST 26th at that time.
After examining it further I noticed his cause of death was Cirrhosis of the
Liver. The man who signed the certificate (not the medical examiner) to
verify this information added WARDEN to his name. I looked for the history
of Bellevue Hosp and found it was affiliated/connected with a Penitentiary
for minor crimes (alcoholics?)
I just don't know?
