Dear Carnivale,

Indeed day do now call Dade county Miami-Dade county!

Wow! I'm sure it's changed a lot since then. Fortunately, I live in
the county only, not in the city. I live on a beautiful! island in
Biscayne bay from whose vantage point it all looks (I did say Looks!)
so wonderful. From the balcony full of tomato (e-less, Dan!) plants,
gardenias, purslane, prayer plants, tropical cannas, ad infinitem, I
just say "NO", (thanks, Nancy), to the madness that beckons from the
west!

Madness is right on! Wednesday night at 8:10, I was fired from a job
at a top-ranked hotel in downtown Miami. Rank is pivotal word here.
Reason: too much whistle blowing, of course! The reader knows me by
now.

I had been helping with the hotel's guest victims' problems caused by
the criminal elmenent: the staff, administration & owners. They're all
foreigners and strident anti-Americans. Mind you, I have nothing
against law-abiding, constitution-understanding, equal
rights-respecting foreigners. In fact, from the gazillion docs I've
seen, I'm related to some! But these ones go too far!

Americans don't have to go out of the country to be abused. They can
enjoy said experience right here in Miami, the one in Miami-Dade
County!!

The Americans they especially hate and constantly stick it to are the
non-Spanish speaking ones. Boy do they go away stucked!!! Their scam
is very well done & it produces beaucoup $$$$. They've got 150 rooms,
minus 1 suite where the a-- hole AWAB owner from Chelsea, London,
England, orchestrates his sado-masochistic bad & gettin' badder
business practices.

Their prime victims are older, gentler Americans who won't make a
scene & who will run away with their tails between their legs. The
owner won't mess with the cruise line groups cuz he knows they'll
blacklist him in a NY nanominute!

What's the scam?
Orders are at the reception front desk, that when occupancy reaches
85% to just say NO! to all cheap reservations, even though they were
reserved, paid, confirmed & reconfirmed! Why because they can bait &
switch that room which they rented for $89 and miraculously (no pun
intended for those of religious beliefs) into a wahpping (sorry,
Italians, that one was a Neronian slip!) $189.
"Sorry, but we don't have any paperwork on your reservation or
payment. We never recieved it."

Where do day put all the elderly American couples? Where else in the
Swappiest hotel in all of greater (or lesser) downtown Miami, the
Everglades located 8 blocks away on Biscayne blvd. We are further
ordered that, since these poor USA Yanks or Rebels aren't and never
have technically been our guests, they cannot use our courtesy (or is
it discourtesy) phone to call for help!! Talk about revisionism!! This
takes the boat!

Do you have any idea how humiliated, embarrased, shamed I was to have
to explain & smooth over the owner's decision to all those retirees
from OH, PA, MI, MA. Now if the victims were younger & could possibly
raise the roof, the staff was ordered to feign a double-take with the
company line:

"Okay, let me check in the back office! Oh, yes, here's your
reservation, right here! Sorry, for the mixup."

I went to the Miami Police about this 'issue' yesterday & I was told
that it wasn't within their jurisdiction.

If the reader can direct me to a forum (sorry, another Neronian slip)
from which this info can be broadcast, I and, I suspect, many other
Americans would be most appreciative.

Welcome to Miami?
