I apparently missed the original post on this topic - and as a
consequence I no doubt am missing the point. But the methods for
tracing the descendants of "famous individuals" is the same as it is
for anyone else. Only easier, since they left a lot more tracks. Also,
a "search of the literature" is certainly a good place to start - the
family may already be documented. Check the card catalog at a Family
History Center.

However, the answer to the question,f "How do I prove or disprove
relationship to a famous person," is that you do that by tracing your
own line back until you either make the connection - or the connection
fails through an accumulation of facts. There's no special formula.
