I would think that W.A.J. would be either a son, a brother or a father
to James, especially since the children usually bought or were given
tracts of land from their parents, and the tracts usually merged
together. In those days, contrary to what we may believe, men didn't
usually marry young. If W.A.J. were the son, usually the mother would
have been listed as being allowed to stay on the property at her
husband's death at least until the child was responsible enough to
handle the property himself. Good luck on this one!
