I have found my ancestry back to my gggg-grandfather in Marion Co., VA.
John & Nancy DURMAN are listed as the parents of my ggg-grandfather, Thomas
A. DURMAN.

John would have been born in the late 1700's, but I have found no trace of
him anywhere in the archives of VA. The only possible link I have found is
the following:

"James DURMAN is listed in the Trafalgar Roll, 21 October 1805, as having
arrived on the ship "Spartiate". His rank is listed as Private RM (Royal
Marines)."

Where could I search for information on the "Trafalgar Roll, the ship
"Spartiate", and the Royal Marines of this time period? I have never found
another mention of James and wonder if he returned to England with the ship.

Any help appreciated,
George W. Durman
