Can someone please help me with trying to find someone?

All I have is a name. He was the father of my great-grandfather,
yet there appears to have never been a marriage, the father is no
where to be found on census records in surrounding states, and the
state archives claims there is no birth certificate for my great
grandfather.

However, my great grandfathers death certificate and social security
application gives the same name.

He was born in 1868 in Vincentown, Burlington, NJ. Any ideas?
