I opted for the Henry system years ago, and that may date me. ;=)

The only problem I see with any numbering system is that they are
all useless unless assigned after all research is done. The Henry
system gives the most positional information of any I've seen, but
if a error is found on the parents of a child, things have to change
for that child's branch.
