Some of us still use "op. cit." It is used in referring again to a
work which was *not* the most recently cited work. It stands for
the title of the work cited (i.e., the last cited work by that
author). Obviously, "op. cit." goes after the author's name, which
must be included. With "ibid.", the author's name is not included
because it's the same author, as well as the same title, as the
citation just before. I've never used "idem", but it looks like a
synonym for "ibid".
