Michael, you need to be somewhat specific on what you wish to
ask for, but I agree with the other reply you received, attain all
that is available.
My hobby is providing Naval Ship histories "free" to
individuals, and I at times have sent for this info many times over
the years. The following list may or may not be of use to you, but
it is kind of a starting point on what you can attain:
Rank/grade
duty status
date of rank
service number
gross salary
georgraphical location of duty assignments
military/civilian education level
promotion sequence number
awards and decorations
offical photo
record of any court-martial trials
city/town, state of last known residence
places of industion and seprartion
Place of birth, date and location of death and place of burial of
deceased veterans can also be released.
