Polly and I are, to each other, eighth half-cousins once removed. I
am descended from Katherine Banks by her first husband, Joseph
Royall, and Polly is descended from Katherine Banks by her second
husband, Henry Isham; and Polly's father was my eighth cousin. (The
part about our being married, but not to each other, is just the
punch line to an old Calvin & Hobbes joke.)

My wife and I both have the name Field in our ancestry, and both
from Virginia, but so far we haven't been able to connect them.
Good luck with your quest.

A. Royall Whitaker, Gent.
