The census? Might be a help. You could determine when and where he
was born, perhaps who he was living with, what his occupation was,
where his parents were born.
Depending on the census year, a few other helpful facts as well.
And did you check the RI cemetery database to see if he is in there?
You may find birth and death dates which may also be of interestl.
Vital records offices are usually very helpful if you are precise
with your requests.
