Subject: Re: ALLEN-SOUTHWORTH-GEORGE of Middlesex Co., VA
Date: Thu, 3 Apr 1997 23:20:37 -0500 (EST)
Hi Charles,
Robert GEORGE (ca 1698) son of Robert GEORGE (1666-1734) & Sarah, married
Anne ALLEN on 28 Jul 1718 Christ Church, Middlesex Co, VA. Anne was a widow
at the time, she had previously been married to Arthur NASH (1696-1718).
Arthur NASH and Anne ALLEN were married 25 Feb 1717.
I show that Anne is a daughter of Richard ALLEN and Elizabeth ___. Anne was
baptised 15 Mar 1701/1702 Christ Church, Middlesex Co, VA. She and Robert
GEORGE left Middlesex Co, VA and moved to Caroline Co, VA by the early
1730's.
Robert & Anne's children: Elizabeth (Betty), John, Sarah, and Robert (Jr)
were all found in the Christ Church Records, but the later ones were not
(Lodowick, Anne) so these last two must have been born in Caroline or Essex
Co, VA. Hope this has been helpful.

In a message dated 97-04-03 03:33:20 EST, you write:
<< John ALLIN (sic) of Middlesex Co., VA wrote his will on 30 Nov 1744
and
it was recorded 5 Feb 1745. In it he mentioned the following heirs (all
listed as nephews and nieces):
John GEORGE; Lodowick George; Robert George; Bettie George;
Sarah George; and Anne George
ALSO
William SOUTHWORTH; John Southworth; Elizabeth Southworth; Anne Catherine
Southworth; and Mary Southworth
Robert George, Sr.; William Southworth, Sr.; and John George, Jr. served as
executors.
William Southworth married Catherine Allen at Christ Church in Middlesex
Co.,
VA on 6 Sep 1727. This would explain the Southworth connection and shows
that John Allen was a brother of Catherine, wife of William Southworth.
William and Catherine Southworth and their family are later found in
Caroline
Co., VA after its' formation. William Southworth died in Caroline Co., VA
in
1758, when his will was submitted for probate in April of that year.
I am curious to learn the connection of the ALLEN family to the GEORGE
family. If anyone can shed some light on this family and its' connections,
I
would be most grateful.
I would ask that you please send any replies to my personal email address.
Thank you for your help.
