Greetings fellow searchers.
I am sending to all of you a WINTERMEYER family in hopes of finding some
connection. The name is obviously of German origin and I have corresponded
with a few with those roots last year. I have yet to find a marriage record
in England that might shed more light on the specific origin in Germany of my
WINTERMEYER family.
One addtional bit of info: a daughter (Elza or Elise Wintermeyer born 1863 in
Bath, Somerset, England) married a ______ HARDING ( beleived to be a
minister or missionary). Elise was in London at the time of her mother's
death in 1906. However, family notes indiate that she and her husband became
missionaries in Australia "back woods" ... I don't know of any descendants.
Elise (Eliza) may have been a nurse. Other WINTERMEYER connections were:
sister Alice, born 1868 married a GEORGE in England ... descendants split up
on death of parents from TB ca 1896;
Also, sister Ellen married a SZANIK and travelled to California to be maid of
honor at San Fancisco wedding of cousin Ernest GEORGE in 1925. Sister Ada
WINTERMEYER married Fred FARLEY in London whose occupation was Beefeater ( a
guard in Tower of London). I know nothing of WINTERMEYER brothers: Henry,
Edwin born 1860 and 1867 in Bath and Frank and Albert born London 1872 and
1877.
