My 3ggf was Moses George 2nd, b. 22 Jan 1795 in Haverhill, Essex,
Massachusetts (just across the New Hampshire state line). Moses George 2nd
m. Abigail Bodwell Ladd 31 May 1818 in Haverhill. I have four children
(though there were probably more): Abigail W. (b. 23 May 1819), Elizabeth Ann
Florantha (my 2ggm, b. 4 Sep 1820), Marriett T. (b. 21 May 1823), and Nathan
C. (b. 1831). Moses George 2nd d. 10 Feb 1851 in Haverhill.
I have the parents of Moses George 2nd as Corp. Amos George (b. 31 May 1754,
d. 23 Dec 1827) and Sarah Green (b. 26 Apr 1753, d. 29 Sep 1815). Amos
George's father was Gideon George (b. 27 May 1712, d. 11 Feb 1787); Gideon
George's father was John George (b. abt 1677, d. 28 Feb 1715).
So far as I can tell, these folks remained in Haverhill form 1677 to at least
1840, though it is not unlikely that collateral lines may have gone up into
New Hampshire and Vermont. Since my 3ggf was Moses George 2nd, it stands to
reason there must have been a Moses George 1st, but I have no idea who he
might have been.
If this rings any bells, let me know -- the name suggests that we may have
more than a coincidence here.
