Hi cousins and fellow George researchers.

My name is Marty Grant and I'm a long time George researcher (25 years). I
am within a few months of completing a book on the Col. John George line. As
you might know, John George was born in England, ca 1603, and died in Isle
of Wight Co., VA in 1679. He is the progenitor of (probably) the second
largest George family in Virginia. His kinsman (some say brother) Nicholas
George is the founder of the largest George family in Virginia. My book does
not contain much about Nicholas as he certainly deserves his own book!

If any of you are from my line and have any information to share (preferably
documented), please let me know sometime soon. I have scoured as many public
and private records as I can find, though I'm sure there are things I've
missed. No book on any family will ever be 100% complete, nor 100% accurate,
but I'm going to do the best I can. It is already nearly 1000 pages in
length. I think I'll do it in two volumes, with # 1 being the family history
(completely documented) and # 2 will be transcribed source documents only
(letters, wills, etc.) At least that is my current plan, I may change it
before I'm finished.

My George website contains some of the family history of this line, but it
is woefully out of date. I have not made any significant updates to it in
some time, though as it stands now it is pretty good I think.

list with it unless you think it is of general interest to the list.
