Hi Bud:
As promised, I'm sending you my George family history. I'm at the very end of the page here (and I am not sure I am writing this all out correctly with the right numbering, but it's how it is in a book I was given). I have come to a standstill with Jonathan George. The family history says he was born in Germany (this is according to the Columbia-Montour County History, p. 1029). However, the census says he was born in Pennsylvania. He supposedly lived in Minersville (currently in Schuylkill County but it was Berks Cty at the time) and then moved to Brush Valley (which I believe was a section of current Franklin Township in Columbia County, PA). He and his wife are buried in Numidia at a Lutheran Cemetery. Numidia is in Columbia County, PA. I have seen Jonathan's?grave which says "Georg" (without a first name) rather than George. Many of his children (including William and Elizabeth Shuler) are also buried in the same cemetery. The Shulers, I believe, are German, so it seems !
very likely that this George is also German. However, there are many George from the Minersville, PA, area who are Welsh.
I am descended through his son William, his grandson William E, his great-grandson, Albert C, great-great-grandson William R (who is my father).
If you see any connection with Abraham George, let me know. Maybe my information will shed light on something you have. I have more extensive information about some of Jonathan's other kids and their lines too. Jennifer George Maybin

Jennifer,
Any idea what part of PA your GGG grandfather was born?
My George connection is from eastern PA, specifically the part Northampton
County that is now Lehigh County - Lowhill Township.

My GGG grandfather was Johann George (or Georg) and he was born about 1776
in Pennsylvania. I have not been able to locate his parents or any
information about siblings. Jennifer George Maybin
