Anyone know the GEORGE fam of 1777 Greenbrier Co, WV?
Many of the residents there came from Hardy Co, WV.
P-194/202 from 1928 Wm & Mary Quarterly entitled "A book containing the
Marriages by me, John Alderson" wherein m of 1776 to > 1798 are listed by
names and dates only. These records were recorded by John in his own
private ledger. Corresponding civil records (licenses/bonds) for these
marriages have not survived. Around 1776 he relocated to Greenbriar County,
VA (now WV) and founded a Baptist Church there.
P-194/5 has 16 Jan 1777 m of Hannah GEORGE to John Jackman and a 25 Dec
1777 m of Martha GEORGE to George SEE.
