Well Jim, they always said that I kissed the boys and made them cry! That
was long before there was ever a George of the Jungle...

My Isaac George, wife Molly and son Stephen came to the Stumpfield area of
New Hampshire circa 1763.
They later moved to Sandwich, NH, for 4 years and then on to Burton (now
Albany) NH. He homesteaded there for 28 years and his 7 sons moved out of
NH - 5 to parts unknown and Stephen and John to Maine in 1806. His wife
died and spinster daughter, Tabitha, married so Isaac packed up and went to
Prospect, Mass. (now Maine) to be near his 2 sons and their families. The
tax collector sold his Burton homestead for $20.26. John George, son of
Isaac, moved to Addison, OH. His son, James Young George, moved to Ft.
Wayne, Indiana where he married and thence to Jennings Co., IN, where my
grandfather and his father were born. My Pappaw George moved to Greenfield,
Hancock Co., IN about 1920 and that is where I grew up.

"GEORGE GENEALOGY" by Keith H. George in 1991 says that Isaac was a yeoman,
born in England about 1740. My dad's two sisters told me they thought the
family came from Wales. but there is now no one left to ask.

Now, the point of all this rambling: Is there a possibility that your gr gr
grandfather Henry George was a son of Isaac's son Stephen? The 1st Henry in
our family was b 1783; d Prospect, Maine 1 Mar 1847. mar Sarah Fowler. The
2nd Henry in the book is Henry Lewis George b Boston, MA 6 Apr 1860, son of
Levi Floler George 4 (Henry3 Stephen2 Isaac1).

Does anything look even slightly familiar to you?
