I would like to connect with anyone who descends from William George,1724--ca.1784.He was born in Lancaster County,Va. and died in or near Botetourt Co.,Va.He was reportedly killed by Indians.

The following is a letter written by Mr. W.R. Pope.This letter is in the McClung Collection of the East Tennesse Historical Society,Knoxville,TN.

"Dear Mr. George,

I presume that the (following) is the Bible data that you want.The family record was copied on 24 October 1919 from a new Testament printed in 1752 at Oxford by Thomas Baskett,Printer to the University.It was owned by Mr.Solomon H.George,now deceased.

I plan to leave here on 6th May and arrive Monteagle,Tennessee on 11th May.If I can help you further,please let me know.
