In a message dated 98-01-02 01:08:54 EST, you write:
<< I have a William Green, born about 1786 in Burke County, North Carolina who
married Nancy Porter in 1811 in Burke County, and then moved to Carroll
County, Georgia where both died and are buried west of Villa Ricka, Georgia.
Does this Green family connect with yours? >>
i don't know enough abt my Greens to say. I have JJ and GE Green both b in SC
abt 1820-30. They moved to GA and had a few children there. Then they moved to
AL and had children there. I think this is my fam because they had daus named
Georgia, Annie, and Carrie. Georgia Green was my gg grandmother b abt 1870 in
AL, their Georgia was b 1872 in AL. My Georgis also had a sis named Annie. My
grandmother told me that Georgia had a sis named Marie, but this family has no
Marie. They do have a Carrie, and one of Georgia's daus was named Carrie
Marie, but always went by Marie. Do you think it likely that this could be my
family ?? I found them in the 1880 AL census. Also, this family is aupposedly
related to Gen Nathanael Greene, but I don't think we're direct descendants.
