To all Lebsack,Lebsock, Libsack, Libsock, etc.
About 25 years ago I worked about 3 years (this was writing letters for me
at that time) and found 13 lines of the above in Ne. Ohio, Ks., Colo., Cal.,
Tex., Okla., Fl., Ariz., Id., WA, Ore,
just name state. I was not related I found from their answers. A man from
Denver that I had met later years had same name Grandfather as I but not
related. I sent him oldest of each line and he commenced to work at finding
maybe to him. He was related to the older man in Canada altho his
grandmother was the Lebsack, those in Hastings, Ne. and Id. I never did
connect to mine thru my search but did know one woman we knew at Otis, Ks.
was related to us. Most were from Frank,Russia.
But several years ago, the woman we knew at Otis and still lives in Ks.,
said he bought Dr. Pleve Lebsack chart from Lawrence Lebsock, WA. (bought a
copy) of Lebsack in Frank. Well, for all these Lebsack people said not
related should have such a copy. I found out of the 13 lines, some were
connected to others on top of chart or older persons and could find them all
on this chart somewhere!!!! The chart is just about as large as a banquet
table and all from one man but about 1/12 of chart was from another man and
Dr. Pleve couldn't find a connection between the two men.
I have many Lebsack obits from AHSGR files and have sent those given to me
to AHSGR also. Ruth Amen, Lincoln, Ne also has Lebsack relatives. I was at
AHSGR headquarters when it was in the Amen family home they had given to
AHSGR, before new building they have now and went in basement where maps,
etc were and met Novak, think her name was Magdalene and a sister to man in
Az. that wrote me and formerly of Lincoln, Ne. A group of women were seated
around a table making dolls to be sold at national convention in several
months time and one woman there was former Lebsack!!
She wrote lovely letters sending me her Lebsock line. Bless her as her
parents at Otis, Ks. at one time with her Dads brothers family also. They
were farmers there north of town. My Dad said they were related but he
didn't know how. They had lived there only several years and one went to
Ne. and the other to Canada.
My Grandfather was Henry Lebsack m. Eckhardt in Brunnenthal, Russia. The
woman in Ks. we thought her grandfather and my grandfather were cousins,
first cousins. They were cousins but not first ones from chart. The chart
shows my grandfather Kasper, wife, 2 living children out of 4 he had at
Frank had moved to Brunnenthal when Grandfather was only a few years old.
My great grandfather died in Brunnenthal and g-grandmother m. a Kerbs who
had 4 sons from his first wife and she had 2 sons and 4 Lebsack daughters -
they m. in Wiesenmuller. My grandfather was oldest in family with 3
children infants after him died in Russia and rest weren't married when they
came to America to otis,Ks. Grandfather was m. and had 3 children and came
over 3 years after his mother and stepfather (they had 3 children of their
own too, 2 d. infants and 3rd one was only few months old when they came to
Otis, Ks. too) So they all lived in otis,Ks. and raised their families. I
have a picture of just women, all about same height and Dad said 13 first
cousins and an aunt, all Lebsack women and aunt was the stepdau of their
grandmother. Mom said they were all marriageable age and when they married
sometimes were happened only months apart and they really had the parties
and showers for several years in the family. What good times they must have
had and I knew them all. How fortunate can a person be? My parents were
still living too when I printed and sold family books but never did get the
Lebsack clan together but for Grandfather and Grandmother Lebsack family and
they were 9 of them. Laurin is right, no Lebsack s live in Otis anymore and
no men in my Grandparents line had sons who had sons that lived long enough
to leave the name active. Isn't that something??
I will try to help anyone who asks for it and have in the past too. Just
got my computer last Christmas and this is the way to go. Don't ask me to
send you all the Lebsack stuff I have tho as too much but you can send me
your line and if I can help add to it, will do. My one aunt Katie m. George
Eckhardt of McCook, Ne. and so on. Connecting links in some of them. Have
over 150 Lebsack obits and they help so much. Ethel Lock.
