William F. Hendershot, 82, of Greeley died Thursday, Jan. 30, at North
Colorado Medical Center.
He was born May 21, 1920, in Guymon, Okla., to William Madison and Mary
(Kelly) Hendershot.
Mr. Hendershot owned and operated the Sinclair Station and Bulk Plant in
Hugoton, Kan., for eight years. He then was in the oil field business from
the mid-1950s to 1977, when he retired.
On June 2, 1941, he married Katherine Beth Hicks. She died June 14, 1977.
Mr. Hendershot moved to Greeley in May 1977 from Liberal, Kan. He served in
the Army. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and playing pool. He was an avid
reader and enjoyed his grandchildren.
Survivors are a daughter, Doris K. Greer of Navarre, Fla.; two sons, Larry
Hendershot of Broomfield and Gary Hendershot of Greeley; a brother, Jerry
Alan Hendershot of San Antonio; eight grandchildren and 19
great-grandchildren. His parents and three sisters, Eunice Livingston, Mary
Keepers and Doris Frazier are deceased.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Peace Catholic
Church, 1311 3rd St., Greeley. Cremation.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Weld County Humane Society in care of
Stoddard Funeral Home, 3205 28th St., Greeley, CO 80634.
