Amy,
Welcome to the list serve; we are friendly and hope to help answer
questions.
I checked my "1798 Census of the German Colonies along the Volga"
reference and found several SCHWINDT families listed but only one in
Kraft; I found only one REXIUS listed (a male head of a large
household, including a SCHWINDT daughter-in-law) and it was in Kraft.
This is not much help except to know that the surname was there in the
Volga area, and it was at an early date. The problem is, based on my
experience, there is no census information for Kraft after about 1865
or 1866. One can order (Dr.) Pleve Charts for ancestry, but they are of
no help for the colony of Kraft after that time period. You mentioned
that the REXIUS family first settled in Sugar City, CO; the Denver
AHSGR Chapter has a lot of information on that area as well as the
state of Colorado ..... they should be of some help.
Have you been able to locate "Allenbach"? You seem to have record of
several births. etc., in the area. Focus on locating the town
geographically. A problem is that town names changed and were taken
over by different countries in some areas. There are world mapping
sites, but I can not quote one for you at this time.
Good Luck in your search,
Don Loose
Warren, Mich.
