Cindy,
Are you trying to post your question to the German Volga mail list?
You need to subscribe to send a message.
Complete instructions on how to subscriber are at:

If you do send your question to the German Volga mail list, you should
mention where they settled in America. That is very important. Also do
you know if they are Volga Germans? Also if you know their religion,
mention their religion. All that information helps to determine what
Volga village they may have come from. I know that one village that had
both the Prinz and Markus surnames was Lauwe. (Marcus can be spelled
with a C or K, it does not matter, they are the same). So be sure to
always use that spelling also when you search for your surnames.

You should get in touch with Bernice Maddern
at
She is the village coordinator for Lauwe and she may be able to help
determine if you ancestors came from that village.
