James Patrick Bauer
James Patrick Bauer, 42, of Gering, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004, near Scottsbluff. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 30, at First United Methodist Church in Gering with Rev. Linda J. Battello officiating. The family would appreciate memorials to the Laramie Peak Boy Scout Camp or the First United Methodist Church in Gering.

Jim was born to Alvin and Beth (Lucas) Bauer in Scottsbluff on March 17, 1962. He graduated from Gering High School in 1980. Jim was an Eagle Scout, who enjoyed canoe trips with his dad. He enjoyed working at Ledbetter’s throughout high school. He attended Southeast Technical Community College in Milford, graduating in 1982 with an Associate Bachelor’s Degree in machine tool and die. Jim worked in cable construction for TCI and Cable USA for several years.
In 1992, he and his business partner opened TeRay Jewelers, where he worked in jewelry design and repair. Jim loved riding his motorcycle and spending time with friends.
Survivors include his parents, Alvin and Beth Bauer of Gering; sister and brother-in-law, JoAnn and William Lathrop of Gering; brother and sister-in-law, William and Janet Bauer of Gering; and nieces, Lindsey and Shana Lathrop and Erin, Meagan and Victoria Bauer.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Charles and Helen Lucas and John and Pauline Bauer.
