Weitz, Gerald "Gerry"
Age 83- Passed away November 12, 2004. Gerry was born Nov 17, 1920 in
Endicott, WA. He grew up in the Palouse, graduating from Endicott High
School in 1939. He earned his Bachelor's degree in English from WSU and his
Master's degree in Education from EWU. On August 4, 1951 he married
Dorothea Bartels. Gerry was an English teacher at Rogers High School for 28
years, retiring in 1981. Gerry was also a vertran of WWII, serving in the
South Pacific. He was an avid gardener, and had a love for poetry, sports
and journalism. Gerry is survived by his wife of 53 years, Doroethea Weitz,
at the home; one son and daugher-in-law, Lynn and Linda Weitz, Spokane, WA;
three daughters and sons-in-law, Dianne and Doug Geivett, Brea, CA, Jan and
Mark Manke, Spokane, WA, Juay and Larry Revell, Auburn WA; 11
grandchildren, two sisters, Gloria Menzies, Redmond, WA, Mary Hughes,
Endicott, WA. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Myon and John
Weitz. Graveside service will be Saturday, Nov 20, 2004 followed by a
memorial service at Valley Fourth Memorial church, Spokane, WA
