I have been trying to find out if anyone has heard of a town my GR
grandfather, and the list from ship the emmigrated to the US on - In the
ship list it is called "Charstown", my grandpa spelled it "Cheritnow" and
pronounced it (har ee donov) with a gutteral "h" sound. I have looked at
maps and lists and have not found any of these names. My family was "Volga
Deutsch" and I was told we were from near Saratov.
I have been looking at Kraft and Kamenka because this is where I've found
"Nab" on the first settlers lists.
Any help greatly appreciated.
