Residence: Platteville/Fort Lupton

Tribute: Paul Edwin Schmidt was born in Fort Morgan to Edwin and Emma
Schmidt. He attended school in Fort Morgan and graduated from Fort Morgan
High School in 1940. He moved in 1944 to Platteville, where he farmed with
his family.

He married Pearl Wehausen in Golden on June 7, 1953. This union was blessed
with three children, Pauline, Phyllis and Dwight. In 1965, the family moved
to Fort Lupton, where they farmed and milked cows. He served on the Fulton
Ditch Board for 30 years and the Central Colorado Water Conservancy District
for 14 years. He also served on the soil conservancy board.

He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Platteville for 63 years. He
served in various offices at the church and taught Sunday school there for
32 years.

He died Saturday at his home.

Survivors: His wife, Pearl, of 54 years; two daughters, Pauline King and
husband Ora of Littleton, Phyllis Davis and husband Tom of Laramie, Wyo.;
daughter-in-law Susan Schmidt of Parker; five grandchildren, Nathan and
Matthew King, Sean and Heidi Davis and David Schmidt; his brother Harold
Schmidt and wife Betty of Denver; a sister, Ruth Rhodes of Platteville; and
nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: His parents; and his son Dwight, who died in 1988.

Visitation: 11 a.m.- 8 p.m. today at Pedersen Family Funeral Home, Fort
Lupton

Funeral services: 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. John Lutheran Church, 310 Byers
St., Platteville. Interment at Mizpah Cemetery in Platteville.
