Sigismund, do you know of any books like this for the towns of Reizenhain,
Kallich, Natchung, and the surrounding area? I would LOVE to find some
historical information about these places, the homes my ancestors lived in,
etc., i.e. more than just the basic dry statistics. I haven't been able to
find the 1848 book some have spoken about. Researching Richter, Siegert,
Erler, Ebert, Matz, Motz, Eulner, Goeptner, Langer, Ihl, Rebentisch, Fassl,
Pitsch.... Kathi

Dick,

I can recommend to read the book of Dr. Karl Stich:
"Heimat in Boehmen, Semeschitz - Kreis Bischofteinitz."
(in German), 845 pages.
The history of the Schlesinger-Hof and the Altrichter-Hof
is described on p. 438 - 460 !!! It is an extended version,
because the author was born in this house and Zwascha family
belongs to his ancestry!!!
Before house numbers (about 1770) were introduced, the
houses were named using special house names, so #19 was
called "Schlesinger", because since 1700 the owner was Michael Zwaschka (oo
1 May 1680 Kunigunda Fr"ollig from Polsch"uetz) and it was said, that two
Zwaschka brothers
settled in Semeschitz in the middle of the 17th century and
they were coming "aus Schlesien".

The son of Michael Zwaschka was Adam Zwaschka (8 Aug 1696 - 5 Aug 1763).
Adam Zwaschka sen. has
given the house to his son Michael (1759). In this moment it is not clear,
why your Adam Zwaschka was born 1747 on the Schlesinger-Hof because of
another hint in the book concerning the Kassdoma-Hof (# 22), p. 470 - 475:

Adam Zwaschka (your ancestor) married 17 Nov. 1773 Katharina Zwaschka and
became owner of # 22 in 1780. The former owner was Michl Zwaschka (father
of Adam, possibly in his second marriage). He was born about 1704 and died
16 Feb. 1781.

The owners of the Altrichter-Hof (# 18) belonged to another family Zwaschka.
Catharina Zwaschka (born about 1748..1750, died 18 Mar 1798) was the
(oldest?) daughter of Kaspar Zwaschka (2 Jan 1710 - 1759) and his wife Anna.

The parents of Kaspar Zwaschka were Rudolph Zwaschka (d. 28 Jul 1748) and
Kunigunde Pauer (3 Mar 1688 - 27 Feb 1746).
The earlier owner of the Altrichter-Hof was the father of Kunigunde, the
"Richter" (means: mayor) with great reputation in the village Semeschitz
between 1690 and 1715, Johann Pauer (born in Webrowa).
He married (21 Apr 1682) Katharina Gr"uner the daughter of the former owner
between 1670 and 1682 (Hans Gr"uner).

Another hint concerning the possibly oldest Zwaschka inhabitants in
Semeschitz (p. 596 and photocopy p. 597:
Soul list from 1651: Mattey Zwaschka, farmer (age 33)
his wife Anna (age 32)
1654: Tax roll: Swassek
7 Dec 1647: Mathey Zwaschka owner of #1
16 Mar 1665: He changed # 1 against # 2 (guest house)
26 Oct 1677: He sells # 2 to his brother Veith Zwaschka.

You can find much more Zwaschka information in the book.

With greetings from Dresden, Germany,

Sigismund.
