I am looking for the names and birthplaces of the parents of my great
grandfather, Hugo Rapprich. Hugo was born in 1875, and had a brother
born in 1877 named Felix. Both came to the United States through Ellis
Island. They both listed their last residence as Bremen, Germany and
their ethnicity as Austrian. I am told the root "Rapp" means "quick" or
"prompt" in Swedish, and "dark haired" or "raven-like" in German,
Jewish. I am also told the ending "ich" is Slavic for "son of". From
this I conclude the Rapprich family was either German, Swedish and/or
Slavic. Any information leading to my great-great-grandparents would be
much appreciated.
