Laura -

While you are collecting all the info you can from the PA relatives you
could try the following sites - if you haven't already:

www.familysearch.com begin with left-hand column for
ancestor search (Don't be daunted by all the windows asking for
information - just type in names and "Bavaria" (Bayern is German for
Bavaria)

www.genealogienetz.de

http://istg.rootsweb.com (Immigrant Ships Transcribers
Guild)
www.theshipslist.com

Also, Erica at has the CD's for Germans to
America and Vital Records Index of Western Europe and will do lookups.

If you don't know how to contact your Hallemeiers in the Philadelphia area,
