Ginger -

You most certainly have a few given names and dates for starters, so you
could try going to www.familysearch.org and do searches for each of the
names to see if anything about them appears in any of the lists. ("Matches"
are listed by categories: Ancestral File [submitted from anyone who wishes
to do
so - information is not necessarily verified], IGI [International
Genealogical Index - mainly births and marriages, but some deaths], US 1880
Census, Canada 1881 Census, UK 1881 Census, SSDI [Social Security Death
Index], Pedigree Resource File [family information that has been recorded on
CDs, which can be purchased], and even Websites.) Be sure to go through the
lists carefully, and when you have clicked on the one or the other entry
("match"), remember to click on any and all links to get the maximum of
information. For films of original records you need to make note of any
film numbers, and you can order these films in for a three-week "rental
period" through your nearest Family History Center (see righthand column of
the homepage for access to a listing) for a small fee for viewing at their
facility.

Another way to go is the surname lists to be found at Rootsweb
(www.rootsweb.com).

Also, check the archives of this list - there have been some excellent tips
on research here.

Good luck!
Carol
