Subject: ATT; MR. D. GEHRER OTHERS THAT HELP THIS LIST
Date: Thu, 24 Feb 2005 18:50:45 -0500

Hello Mr. Gehrer: and the rest of you that offer help in our research, on
this list. Thank you!
Mr. Gehrer, I am sorry you no longer want to help those of us remaining
on the list. I DO understand why you would feel this way! We have a
saying, "don't bite the hand that feeds you!" You have certainly been
feeding the list information, and helping many in our research.
I understand how you feel, and I hope you understand, that not all
Americans (English speaking natives) are whiners, and ungrateful for your
help. There are a few, that make it bad for the rest of us. One
bad apple CAN spoil the rest of the barrel, and seems to have done so, here
on this list!
Please do not let them win, this will only hurt those of us that do
appreciate all your efforts, and sharing.
There are some of us that know what the Subject Line is for.
There are some of us that know how to Unsubscribe, as we have read the
welcome letter, and don't just post "Unsubscribe" to the list, but send it
to the correct address. We appreciate the help given to us, and say
Thankyou for your help each time.
Then there are those........ that have no manners, show no respect, and
are not grateful for the help and think everything should be given to them
without any work on their part, and not so much as a thankyou, for the help.
They never buy a map, look at a History book, or try to find any information
other than what they can get from another person. They want something for
nothing....everything given to them.
Please believe me .... not every American is like that. I am sure
there are people, that you would not like to be associated with in your home
town. (I have relatives I don't want in my home!) <grin> Please do not
"lump" all Americans together, because of what a few "English speaking
people" do.
I am sorry you and the others, that so willing give of your time and
knowledge to help others, have been disrespected. I and most of my
generation (65 plus) are embarrassed by these actions. Some people have not
learned respect of others, it not only shows in their talk, but in the way
they dress and their actions. These people are not only found in America,
they are all over the world. Please judge each person on an individual
basis.
I have not posted on this list for a long time. However, I read and
enjoy and learn from the posts of others. I certainly appreciate all
those that answer and try to help other's with their genealogy queries. I
know I am not alone!
Please reconsider, and stay, there are so many that can gain from
your knowledge and the others that care and help.
Thanks
Lorna June
