Hi,
In a typed death certificate from Montana, I have found the name of the
parents of Henrietta Ortwig Sasse. They were Fritz Ortwig and Elisabeth
MUSAF. The daugher Henrietta was born in Germany about 1848.

The informant was the woman's son who was born in the US, but I'm sure
he either heard the name and guessed at the spelling, mis-read some
German written document, or else the handwritten information was
mis-read when it was typed.

The ORTWIG/OERTWIG/OERTWICH/ORTWICH families that we know of, all came
from around Koenigsberg/Neumark, and I've read several microfilms of
church records from that area, and I can't make any intelligent guesses
as to the correct name that has been recorded as MUSAF.

So I'm wondering if any of you have any suggestions for possible correct
spellings for this name.
