My ancester, Phillip Geary was from Germany according to the 1860 census.
His daughter in a later census says that her father was born in Westphalia. It
seems like every other Geary in New York was of Irish descent. Does anyone
know if the Geary surname shows up in Germany or should I try to search with
some derivitives of the name.

Also, looking for consentrations of the surname Schlecht particularly in
Wurttemburg
