I have been very insuccessful at tracking down the Hilmire surname. I
am starting with Anson K(?) Hilimire, born about 1822-24 in Prussia and
emigrated to the US in about 1849. In 1849 he was residing with the
Beal Family, I believe in Acadia. he
is buried in East Palmyra, NY. He and wife Celestia Cole (b. 1828?) had
several children. A granddaughter, Ione C. Hilimire, married Fred H.
March, and is my paternal grandmother.
I realize the last name has been adapted to English and wonder what the
original German is.
