Three of my favorite books about the German settlers of Austin County:

Footprints of Five Generations (about New Ulm and surrounding communities),
by C.W. Schmidt, originally published in 1930, reprinted by the New Ulm
Enterprise in 1986

Historical Accounts of Industry, Texas, by the Industry-West End Historical
Society, edited by Ann & James Lindemann and William Richter, published by
the New Ulm Enterprise in 1986

Scissortails Still Return to Schoenau (a compilation of family histories), by
Geraldine Mittanck Luetge, originally published in 1985 by Taylor Publishing
Company, reprinted in 1992 by the New Ulm Enterprise
