Subject: [G-T] Travel to Bautzen; TEINERT, PAUL, SIMME, REINHARD
Date: Tue, 14 May 2002 13:36:39 -0700
Our family will be travelling to Bautzen during the last week of July, 2002,
and we're curious whether anyone has ideas about the 1000-year anniversary
events that might be going on then, or suggested activities in the area. I'm
hoping that some of you on this list may have gone earlier this year and
might have some suggestions for me. I'm already acquainted with the
Domowina, the Wendish Museum, the www.bautzen.de site, etc. and will
probably make a phone call to the tourist office in Bautzen once I've
gathered some background info. The Goldener Adler Hotel has also been very
helpful, but I'd like to hear personal recommendations. I can do a bit of
Deutsch if there are any good German resources.
I'd also be interested if anyone knows of a good (English-speaking)
genealogist in the Bautzen area. I've located some basic information about
my TEINERT roots, but am still looking for some other details on the
surnames PAUL, SIMME, and REINHARD.
Thanks!
Ken
