There are some confusing reports. I came across a letter by Wilhelm Hermes
where he relates that in early 1847, he journied to IndianPoint and found a
number of colonists unable to get away due to sickness, and/or lack of
funds. I thought the freight charges were to be provided by the
Adelsvereign. He went further to relate a family living in a dug-out in the
sand covered by a canopy of cloth scraps. So apparently not all made it.
