Seeking contacts in US and DE to exchange info on family of Christian Siegfried Holzhauser (umlaat a) and wife Katharina Lipp, who came to Texas from Patersberg (near St Goarhausen). Left Bremen in 1845 and docked at Galvestion Jan 1846 with 5 sons. Church records show his father was of the same name. Also show he was one of a set of twins-apparently a twin sister died. No other siblings were mentioned in the material I received. Have not found any relatives listed in the phone books in the area of this village, but would like to correspond with others who may be related. In Texas, the surname was/is spelled Holzhaeuser, Holzhauser, Holzheuser as various family members dropped an extra vowel and altered the spelling. All seem to be related to the original family to immigrate and settle first in Indianola, and then Victoria, Cuero, Inez, Garcitas and other German Texan communities. Any info, contact or suggestion appreciated.
