Bode Article, winter issue of the "Journal" (quaterly publication of the
German-Texan Heritage Society) page 412-434 is an addendum to article printed
in the "Journal", winter, 2005. It refers to the family of Heinrich Konrad
Wilhelm bode born 20 Dec. 1830, Rosenthal, Hannover, Germany, son of
Johann christoph Heinrich Bode, b. 1793, d. 1859, and Dorothee Margarethe
Herweg, b. 1792, died 1856. Heinrich K. who went by Wilhelm came to
Galveston on the ship, "Fortuna" in 1860. Most large libraries receive
the GTHS "Journal".
Also, yes, Clayton Library here in Houston has all the volumes of
"Germans To America", plus the Hamburg Passengers Lists, and other
passengers lists plus finding/user aids.

There is an old post about Bode/Radetzsky. This refers to Robert Bode
(1823-1902) and his wife Johanna Radetzsky (1828-?). They came to Texas in
1855 and eight of their eleven children survived infancy. Only the first was
born in Germany; all the others were born in Texas.
If anyone has information about them or ancestors, please let me know.
